Almond Oil has become my favorite holistic beauty product! There are so many things you can do with it. Here's 5:
1. Oil Facial
Slather almond oil onto your face and gently massage in circular motions.
Saturate a wash cloth with hot water and place over your face. Leave the washcloth over your face for 5 minutes, or until it becomes cool.
Remove the cloth and use it to wipe the oil from your face. Your face will most likely feel slick, but your skin will absorb the extra almond oil. A pro to this is that you won't have to moisturize!
With an oil facial you are dissolving and wiping away the bad dirt and oils from your face and replenishing it with clean, nourishing oil. There are no harsh chemicals involved and no suds – nothing that strips your skin. When you strip your skin of its sebum, it goes into overdrive and tries to create more. This causes clogged pores which leads to blackheads, whiteheads, and irritation.
Try adding essential oils to your facial – Frankincense for aging skin, Purification for acne prone skin, or Lavender for a calming effect. All of these come in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit!
2. Make Up Remover
Almond oil contains large amounts of monounsaturated fats, which promote healthy cell membranes in the skin. It's a common component of natural anti-aging products because healthy, hydrated skin stay younger longer! Almond oil is a light and less greasy option that acts as an ideal makeup remover. Almond oil effectively opens the pores and ensures all makeup is properly removed. It also reduces the odds of acne and pimple occurrence and can be used for all skin types. It's great around my eyes. Every eye makeup remover I have ever tried has irritated my eyes. I can slather on the almond oil and not worry about my eyes burns and itching.
3. Nail and Cuticle Treatments
Nail and cuticle treatments containing almond oil can help keep nails strong, hydrated, and less prone to peeling and breaking. Pure almond oil can be used in place of cuticle oil to massage and care for rough, ragged cuticles, and can also help to deliver fatty acids and replace the moisture balance lost during cold or dry weather or from the effects of soap.
4. Eye Serum
If you are looking for a natural solution to get rid of dark under eye circles, almond oil is most suitable. Simply apply the oil before going to bed and allow it to work while you sleep. For optimum results do so regularly for a couple of weeks at least. The treatment will help you get rid of dark circles as well as reduce dark eyelids and crow’s feet. Add eucalyptus essential oil to reduce puffiness.
5. Long and Healthy Hair
Almond oil is a rich source of magnesium which is used in a variety of hair products. Deficiency of magnesium can result in heavy hair fall. Apply almond oil once or twice a week to moisturize the scalp. This reduces hair fall and improves hair quality. After massaging, soak a towel in hot water and wrap your hair with it. This ensures better absorption of the oil.
